When circumstances permit, we attend familiarization tours and seminars hosted by economic development agencies. When communities are visited as fieldwork for client projects, the visits are tightly scripted, focussed on the project selection criteria, and often conducted under a demanding schedule. "Fam" tours, however, provide us with the opportunity to gain a broader knowledge of and first hand experience with an area's assets and the sectors in which it feels it is most competitive.
We are generally constrained to a small number of these events per year and try to gain exposure to areas in which we have not recently conducted client work. Because discussion of these visits are not cleint confidential, we have highlighted a few on the menu pane to the left. Naturally, these selections do not consitute a recommendation of these areas for any specific project.
